Schools

Race to the top, where states compete for $4 billion. Obama announced a goal of hiring 10,000 teachers who work in science, technology, engineering and math. School systems are struggling, and they need help now.
Education is the future of America and Obama wants us to get smarter by possible making the year longer. I think he should go ahead and make it year long but have it so school is 4days a week and it starts at 8:30 ends at 2:25. The race to the top is a new program for states to compete and so that who ever makes the biggest effort will get $4 billion to help improve the educational system of the state.
Obama says "Money alone cannot solve US school problems" this is true the parents and teacher need to get together and help each other to make sure that the kid is paying attention and doing there homework. If the kid doesn't not make the effort to try then he or she will not pass school. School is not that hard as long as you try and pay attention you will do good, by dropping out of school you end up hurting yourself in the long run because with out education you will not get a high paying job.
Recently Iowa held event to allow students that dropped out get back in school so they could get better paying jobs and to help them be more educated. I think that Iowa is doing a great job at trying to reform the educational system.
